3D-Displays - DirectX vs. OpenGL

Yesterday iZ3D showed their new 3D Display meant for Gamers. As far as I understood the technical files on their homepage it only works with DirectX for it already contains Depth Information and that makes the Display with the associated driver ideal for gamers.
The Nvidia solution works the same way but says to support OpenGL for professional applications through the Quadro series of graphic cards later this year.
Good news for professional workers. 3D gaming is nice, but I don't think I would afford a 3D-display just for gaming.
